Question on Ghost versus Orange Ghost

I know that this question has probably been asked a million times, so forgive me for posting it again. I couldn't find any definitive answers regarding the topic of Ghost versus Orange Ghost and I am hoping someone can shed some light on the subject for me. I am on the verge of purchasing a Champagne Lesser het Orange Ghost female. I have been working on my breeding plans for her in the future and I have decided I might actually like to get something to prove out the Orange Ghost.

My question is this: Is Orange Ghost the same thing as Ghost/Hypo? Or do I need to seek out a male that is either Orange Ghost or het for Orange Ghost specifically? I don't want to purchase a Hypo/Ghost or a het for those if they are incompatible with the Orange Ghost version. Thanks in advance for anyone who answers!

Re: Question on Ghost versus Orange Ghost

In Ball Pythons, Ghost refers to all Hypomelanism (True Ghost is a Hypomelanistic Axanthic, which is what most other species refer to as Ghost). Orange Ghost is the most common line of Hypomelanism. Most lines of Hypomelanism are compatible. There area few lines that are not. If you want to prove out the Orange Ghost, you should have lots of options as it is compatible with many lines. Just ask anyone you buy from which lines they are working with and if they are compatible with Orange Ghost.

Thank you, Slowcountry, I really appreciate your help. That really makes me feel much better about finding this particular female a boyfriend.
