Cool What size sterilite tub is best for ball pythons?

I am wanting to get a bp and I want to go with the tub instead. I was looking at the screened enclosures but figured that they wouldn't hold a bp. So I would like to know what size tub is best to have for a bp?

Most adult males will be fine in a 34-quart latch box, females in a 41-quart under-bed box.

It depends on how large the BP is. There are different tub reccomendations for different size BP's

Do they have to be clear bins? or can they be colored?

I have two of these racks from Reptile Basics for my males (and grow-up for females): http://www.reptilebasics.com/iris-sw...y-or-back-heat
They fit these blue Iris tubs perfectly: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Re: What size sterilite tub is best for ball pythons?

I'm in the process of designing my first rack system. I was wondering why everyone uses tubs that are only 5 or 6" high. My juvenile girl loves to climb in her glass rank which is set up with branches and stuff for her to enjoy. Other than space saving is there any reason not to use say an Iris 80 which is the same length and width as the 70 but is 13" high, allowing for some vertical furniture. Opinions?

Ball Pythons are mostly ground dwelling snakes. Of course they will move over or hang on whatever furnishings are provided in their cages while exploring their environment but that does not really mean they like to climb. I have a rack and tub system and the cruise the space provided to them on a regular basis or are in their hides chilling out.

I dont know if that would work. How would you heat each space? there is not a shelf between the drawers. I looked at that when I was thinking about switching to the rack system. You can buy the steralite tubs for about 5$ to 10$ a piece and put heat tape down and put them on the heat tape with a t stat and that would work. You can get one of the plastic shelving units to put them on or use counterspace you already have. I found a plastic shelving unit 3 shelves each shelf would hold 2 15 qt steralite latch tubs for for 20$. That is what I used before building my current rack system.
