Feeding Question (not the enclosure debate)

Should I wait to feed until my BP poops from his last meal?

    No.

Some poop every 2 to 3 weeks. Some only poop every 4 to 6 weeks.

Feed on your schedule, they'll poop on their's.

Tnanks, this is his second feeding day since I got him 2 weeks ago. He'll be offered a f/t mouse every sunday evening.

How old (or how big) is he? You could possibly be feeding him more often if he's still small and growing.

He's probably only a few months old, he's about a foot and a half maybe. I fed him a hopper size mouse last sunday and he'll get the same tonight

I'd definitely feed him at least twice a week that size meal. Have you tried rat fuzzies or even pups? I'm sure he's big enough for rat fuzzies twice a week at least.

Nope, tonight will only be his second feeding since I got him and both times he's eaten hopper mice. I was told that he was being fed several pinkies every sunday. I don't want to know how much I can maximumly feed him and still be healthy, I'm not in a rush to get him growing as fast as possible. I was going by the once a week rule of thumb with 1 appropriately sized critter. Should I be feeding him more or is this a good schedule?

Once a week is perfectly fine.

You will probably need to up the size from hopper mice, though. Hopper mice are what you feed newly hatched bp's for their first few meals. They outgrow hopper mice very early on.
