Escapee
We went to the local expo today. Got some new acquisitions, had a great time, came home, discovered that the lid on Li's tank had either been left unclipped allowing her to push it open and escape, or she has jedi mind powers and unlatched it to escape. Either way, she's MIA and we've scoured the downstairs sand havent located her.
I read over a missing snake thread here and told kids and hubs 'tight spaces, warm places'.
Still no Li. I did check the curtains, curtain rods, behind fridge & stove & washer/dryer. We discovered a vent thing was opened a bit, it leads down to the basement (it leads to the furnace and I'm freaking out that she might have fallen down it). Didn't see her down it and when we went into the basement we could see the duct thingy but no way to get inside it without tearing it apart.
I'm going to scour the upstairs to see if she might have gone upstairs. I feel hideous. We had a blast, got some cool snakes, but my buddy Li is now missing and I'm having a hard time feeling happy. Any ways, we're going to go check shoes now. I dunno what to do. Anyone feel like saying a prayer/lighting a candle/rubbing buddah's belly or whatever, be my guest. I need to find my buddy.

Have heart!
My little Monty was missing for a whole two months. We tore the house apart multiple times. Did flour & grocery bags along the walls (to hear/see if he slithered out at night) Nada.
Eventually we decided he either made it all the way out of the house somehow or was dead.
Two days after we put a new snake in his cage, I walked into the room and :::boom::: there he was sitting right in the middle of the floor.
Poor guy was very very skinny but otherwise fine.
The whole time he was gone I had left a dish of water on the floor. When the new guy moved it, I put the water bowl back in the cage. I think that's what made him finally show himself, he was looking for the water.
He now lives in a tub with multiple clips on the lid!

I hear people recommend leaving a heating lamp/Ceramic bulb on a stand in the middle of the floor at night with some nice hides, a nice tempting place for him if he gets cool, sometimes to lower the heat a bit. The problem with that is if he found somewhere toasty warm and the rest of the house is cool he won't really leave said toasty warm place, save for maybe to seek water. Maybe put the water out there too?
Hope he turns up, it's not fun to have a missing snake.

I'm so glad you found her. How is she doing?

Much better. She was COLD when I found her. She's since warmed up, has eaten her dinner and is hanging on the hygrometer in her tank. I'm very relieved.

No, we were at the Steel City Reptile Expo. We.. well... we got a few more additions that I'd planned on. I'll get some pics up tomorrow. I'm still reeling. I loved it. The kids loved it. I got to hold a retic! ***SQUEE***
Li seemed very pleased to be found and warmed and she chilled with me for a bit. I love the morphs, but my darling normal has stolen my heart.
