Curious behaviour...
Hey guys,
Im very curious about what my ball python is doing...
He had a clean shed last night, and I fed him today (he's 800ish grams and I fed him 1 small rat)
My question is, now, only a few hours later, he's roaming and periscoping all over the place, why?
Is he wanting more food, do you think? Does this mean he'd already digested and is okay to be handled? (I won't for 48 hours still but just wondering)
I'm not worried, as such, just curious. What are your thoughts, people?(:

Re: Curious behaviour...
Any time my little guy is acting odd my first thought is to check husbandry, make sure that all equipment (heating devices, thermostats, etc) are working correctly and rule out any possible problem within the tank that could be causing him discomfort. Does he have a proper area for belly heat in his tank? I wonder if he could be looking for a hot area to digest in, unless of course he left the hot area to explore, in which case I am not sure. Mine always stays curled up in his hide to digest or lies with his neck in a loose S shape and his chin against the ground at the entrance to his hide watching things. I actually rarely see him out exploring in the tank at all, usually sleeping or peeking out of the hide. Then again, I handle mine every day that he isn't digesting, so maybe he just happens to be out at the times that he would normally be active in his tank and is ready to rest by the time he goes back in.
