Trust your thermometer. What feels warm to a human is usually way to hot for a reptile. It should never feel hot to the touch to you.

Use the temp gun on your own fingertips. They won't feel warm to you either, but will be around 90 degrees.

The surface of the glass should be 90.
97.5 is too hot.

Ok thanks I will drop it down and wait alil and see what the glass temp is at so I kno what to keep the tstat set at haven't had my snake in his tank yet took him out so I can get them temp right first

Got it set right now tstat set at 98 which is making the glass surface read 89-91 thanks for the help
