the power went out in my apartment last night and my babies went down to atleast 60 and possibly 58
it's on now but was out all night. alfy's warming up under his heat lamp now but i'm worried about him. he ate a big meal two days ago. i hope he's fully digested. before his lamp was heating up i cuddled him as best i could and i heard a few breaths that sounded a little gurgly. has anyone experienced an overnight power failure like this with or without any physical aftermaths for their snakey? i'm monitoring his health very closely today and over the next few days.

I don't think being at 60 degrees for such a short time would do anything to him. Just make sure he can get nice and warmed up now. I think you're doing the right thing monitoring him though. Can never be too safe.

snakes are designed to be wild and surely face a few cold nights in the wild....surely a domesticated on can take a little extremes right??

That's more extreme than ball pythons are well-equipped for. Now would be a good time to pick up some hunter's hand-warmers or even a UPS to run your heating pads off of so there aren't any repeats of this.
