Going into shed.. But shows a cut on the belly.. laying in water.. Help
The eyes of my BP turned white/blue-ish. Which would mean he is going in shed if I read it right.
So I wanted to check if his belly was pink, like discribed by so many.
When checking his belly I found a small cut right in the middle of his belly, on 2/3rd of his body. It looks like it is already healing, because when I examine it closer there is already some white 'dreads' closing the wound.
On the other hand he keeps going into his water supply all the sudden. Then stays there for 30 minutes and goes back into his hide. After a few hours I spot him inside the water again.
Does the cut and laying in the water have anything to do with shedding or should I be worried :S

Think you could post a couple pictures of the cut you are looking at?
How old is the snake?

Allright, thank you! Started to worry as I did not notice it a few days ago and he is my first snake.
I'm right about him going into shed? (Correct me if I am wrong and sorry for questions that may be obvious, want to be sure )

Hey, no need for concern that is where the umbilicus attached to the yolk while your snake was inside the egg.
Also, you are correct, looks like hes going into shed.
How long have you been noticing the soaking behavior? It is typical for a snake to soak going into a shed so probably no need for concern there either (though he might spend less time in the water if you up the humidity of the enclosure). And short periods of soaking is what you want too, if your BP is sitting in water all day long then you start to look for problems. That being said, take a look at the temps make sure their solid but its probably just the shed.

Well he does soak in his water every once in a while, but does not lay in it for more then 20-230 minutes.
Then he does go back in his hide.
Since I already thought he was going into shed I did spray water.
He does the soaking since yesterday evening, so that's why I checked if he was alright.
I will get my tstat and hygrometer/thermometer wednesday so I do not know the exact numbers right now :S

I hope I didnt miss something and you are noy running an UTH without regulation?!?!?!
The soaking is probably because your humidity might be a little low.
