Went to a pet store near where I work today. Looked at thier reptiles. No hides no climbing things, just waterbowl and animal or animals. Grr. I wanted to buy one cus the prices were right, but the conditions were not and I odn't trust that they are healthy. Dang it. Anf that section of the store was roped off so I couldn't really see the animals, too far away. I wonder if they ever sell any and what htey do to ones they don't sell and that get too big for the tanks they have. The whole thing worries me. Oh, and at Petco the otehr day, they had 2 kinds of boas, one type I am pretty sure are both sick, there were 2 regurges in the tank that had been there for a while I might add. The others, the redtails, were obviously dehydrated. All this bad care and they are still at regular price and arenot willing to come down. don't know what to do. They also had a corn, about 4-5 months old, labled as baby corn, apparently testy. I don't think it is ever hand;ed and has been there since the store opened. Grrr, grr. What to do? I went to the store near my job becuase I thought I might see something better so I would nothav to frequent petco, but no such luck.

I guess they don't have hides for the snakes so that the customers can actually see them.... otherwise they'd be in them all day, but that's pretty cruel..

Petco by my house is not too bad, at least they try to make them comfortable; hides and all. They are not very good at cleaning the cages though.

yeah, from what I have seen the petco temps are good, but the cages aren't clean and the animals don't seem healthy. I Don't like to frequent a place that has unhealthy animals becuase I feel like I am supposrting that.

    Herp Society???

I have only bought one herp from a pet shop and that was a normal leo for my little girl. I must say she is the appitmey(sp) of health and has bred for me resulting in several good clutches... I refuse to buy anything for my personal collection because Iknow where this stuff comes from andmost ofthe time you ar eonly introducing disease into your cllection.
    Just a reptile lover!!!!!
