Question Nose Rubbing in adult BP

    hey guys,

my adult BP has some roughed up nose scales on top and where his pits are. no puss, no blood just roughed up looking scales. kinda matte too like hes buffed it.

I was wondering if this is something I should be worried about or if it will heal on its own?

he has missed his last 4 meals not sure if this is even related, I figured he just isn't hungry, I also noticed this weekend that he is most likely going into shed (he has that tell tale pink belly and hes also being a little less social, sleeps in his hide at night (usually active))

absolutely nothing has changed in his habitat since adopting him about 6 months ago. his temps are good, humidity good. I changed his hide when picked him up back then but never seen his nose like this till this passed week.

im just wondering what could be causing him to rub his nose so much like this? probably a dumb question to even ask but is there something I can do? or just leave him be, keep an eye on it so it doesn't get any worse..?

    thx!
    Cassy

Sounds like he's trying to start the shed. They start at their noses and (for lack of a better word) scrape off the skin on rocks or anything that they feel is sufficient. Perfectly normal. He should stop rubbing after he sheds😊

thanks you're most likely right, it had me a bit worried because he hasn't gone through his "blue" phase yet so i thouht it to be a wee bit early for him to be trying to get his shed off.

I gave him a warm bath to try and soothe some of the scuffed nose scales.

thanks a lot for your prompt reply!!
