So it's been a while since I've posted here. I have hardly even lurked. It's been a really up and down year.
For those that haven't heard:
- My Mom passed suddenly in January from an aneurism while in the hospital recovering from hip surgery.
- My Dad passed in June due to complications of malnutrition. He was depressed from Mom passing and wasn't eating properly and by the time we noticed it was too late.
- My first child, daughter Kelsie, was born July 3. My light in a storm of tragedy.
- My brother passed in August just 3 weeks after being diagnosed with liver cancer. He was the only one to see Kelsie after she was born.
Other notables are having to deal with getting estates processed and getting utilities switched over at my parents house once it was officially mine. Every company has a different policy and procedure for such things. Very annoying.
The silver linings:
- My Mom had been suffering for 3 years with complications of COPD from decades of smoking. She was attached to an oxygen machine 24/7 and would get out of breath just waking to a different room. So her passing was in a way a blessed end to that suffering.
- My Dad was already in the early stages of some form of dementia. So I suppose it was a blessing that he didn't have to go down that road. And I don't think he could have handled my borther passing before he did if he was still around when that happened.
- There is no way we could afford all the expenses that came with our child on our own. So the estate has been a huge blessing to us to remain financially stable. Also, selling my parent house might allow us to pay off most or all o our mortgage. Therefore making us 100% debt free.
All that being said, the selfish part of me wants my family back.
Other things...
As a result of my parents' passing we've had to find homes for their animals. We took 3 dogs and 2 cats and found home for 2 other dogs. Still would like to find homes for two other dogs as they don't get along with our other dogs. That gives us 4 dogs and 4 cats between ours and theirs.
I have had 3 clutches all year. First clutch was total fail. None of them ever ate nor took kindly to being force fed. All passed away. The 2nd was pretty good and sold immediately. 3rd clutch was only 3 eggs and just hatched. 2 normals and a lesser from a Lesser x Pin. Disappointing.
Started playing WoW again. Just not as hard core as before. Try to get a legendary cloak before it goes away in the new xpac coming next month.
That's about it I guess.
Hope to see yall around.
