I have had two of my girls floating around the 1000-1100 gram mark since April - my Butter Pastel who will be 2 in December and my Sugar who will be 2 in March. Edging closer to breeding season, I've started thinking about their eating habits (or lack of) more than usual. They've both been on f/t since they were hatchlings, so that's what I've been offering every week. Since they're not losing much weight (50 grams at most since their last empty weight), I'm not concerned about their health. My Sugar's last meal was on July 12 and my Butter Pastel has been eating only once every three weeks or so since April. Not a long stretch of fasting by any means, but an annoying one for me given their timing.
Is there any reason that I should think about trying anything different for these girls? They're iffy for getting up to size this season, but since they have a chance I figured I'd ask. If you were in my shoes, would you try live for them even though they've been taking f/t pretty much their entire lives, or would you let them just do their thing like I have been doing and they'll eat when they're ready?
Thanks for your insight in advance!
Best regards,
Eric
