    Wine fridge incubator

    Hey guys,

I just wanted to share my wine fridge that I converted into an awesome little 2 clutch incubator. I was able to find a broken wine fridge for $20 on craigslist, it has a internal thermometer that is somewhat accurate and an awesome internal LED light. I started out by gutting all the internals but I left the circuit board intact so the light and the fans would still work. I rewired the fans so i would be able to place one fan in the back on the top and the other in the front on the bottom so there are no hotspots. The fans are sitting on 4, 3/4 pieces of PVC pipes (one in each corner) so air would be able to get under the fan in order for the it to function properly, all i did was super glue the PVC to the fan then that down to the incubator and it is perfectly stable. I then placed a 12in X 12in piece of heat tape on the back wall, this may be slight overkill but i wanted to make sure that i would have no problem reaching the required temps, this will be controlled by a herpstat so all will be good. In total i spent about $50 to make the incubator function properly and $190 including the herpstat, and I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out! Let me know what you guys think.
