I think my ball python is dying!!
I have a ball python who tore some skin off in a couple spots. It was not deep injuries at all, only the first layer of skin (scales were gone, showed white tissue). I have been bathing her and disinfecting the wound. It was improving, but then the scales around the wound turned red and there were a couple spots (blisters) that were full of fluid. I continued the bathing routine and once again it seemed to be getting better. She was moving around a lot more and was more relaxed. She started a shed, which I was told would help her injuries heal better, but she still hasn't shed and when I gave her a bath tonight she seemed really weak. It seemed like she was limp almost. She wasn't even really moving when I would touch her head. I've tried everything I have been told to do and cannot afford to take her to a vet right now. Does anyone know what is wrong with her or what I could do to help her??

If she has an infection from open wounds, you'll need antibiotics, from a vet.

Re: I think my ball python is dying!!
We need more information before anyone could give you any good information.
It sounds like she NEEDS a vet visit. Sell some of your things or call around and see if any vet will do payment plans.
The injuries plus her being lethargic does not sound good at all.

Rule #1 of owning an animal ALWAYS have money to afford a Vet WHEN you buy an animal you are taking responsibility into YOUR hands.
There is nothing to be said as harsh as it sounds BUT you need to either come up with vet funds or your snake will likely not make it.
And im going out on a limb here, His heat source likley isnt "controlled" by a thermostat is it?
