    Emergency. Please advise:

Recently made a post about my BP having a strange reddish lump on her side found here:

    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...-BP-%28Help%29

She recently shed. It came off in pieces, but everything went smooth besides her head and eyecaps which I have removed. The day after her shed she had (again) pink red blots on her neck, almost concerning me to blood infection. I come home today to find her skin gone to the muscle, similar to an attack from a mouse or rat.

I can't get her in to a vet till the morning at 8 and I'm wiggin'. I don't want her to suffer. The spot was the only discoloration on her body and her skin randomly vanished in an 8 hour period and the skin is loose around the area. Temps have been in the norm and humidity in the 60% range.

    Here's a picture.

    Please help me.

    Thank you in advance.

    -Sean

I do not know what that is, but it might be a bacterial infection... Can you put antibiotics on it? I hope she pulls through whatever it is.

Post a pic of the cage and everything in it. The pic above is small and grainy but in the earlier thread it almost appears like a rub. I'm wondering it there is something in the tank it keeps going through or rubbing against causing it.

I still think it is burns that blistered and now the dead skin is sloughing. Put her in a rubbermaid/sterilite bin with paper towels and water dish only until she heals. Regulate an UTH with a thermostat on one side to 95F (80F on the cool side). You can apply some plain ol neosporin without pain killers to the wounds to keep infection out. Make sure no flies or knats get into her bin or you will have maggots.

With a vet visit tomorrow morning first thing, I personally wouldn't put anything on it. I would just put her in a small tub type container on paper towel with a hide and water bowl until the morning when you take her to the vet. Fresh, clean environment with nothing to irritate it, and not much to rub against.
