    Doing good?

I have my bp since the 9th of august and this week I measured and weighed her for the first time (never thought about it before but since i see that kind of info a lot on this forum, i thought i'd do it too )

    She's 4 months old (born in May), 60 cm (23,6 inch), 170g
i feed her every week with a mouse (i guess it's a hopper, no info about that at the pet store so..) but i always ask for the smallest one

is her weight regarding her size ok? Is the prey size fine?

Also, she "peed" while ejecting a sort of chalk, what's that thing?
And she didn't shed yet, how often shall she shed actually?

    Thanks!

So as for her size, she could be a bit bigger but you shouldn't be worried.

A good rule of thumb to determine how big her prey should be is to look at the biggest circumference around her belly and get prey that is about that size if not slightly larger... just enough to show a bulge in her belly after she eats.

And the pee coming out with the white chalky stuff is a mixture of pee and poo, to be blunt.

Hatchlings will shed pretty often, so just make sure you keep her humidity up. Also, around the time that she sheds, she may be grumpy and not want to eat.

    How big is her enclosure?

    Re: Doing good?

What does "to be blunt" mean? (i'm from belgium, my english isn't perfect ^^')

I checked her belly, it's not pink yet and she eats perfectly, so i guess she won't shed soon
the humidity stays around 50-55%, should i spray with water to keep it higher ? (her water bowl is always filled)

her enclosure is 100cm large, 30cm deep, 40cm high

    Re: Doing good?

I agree with Ashleymarie that she could be bigger. I personally think mouse hoppers are a little small. My 2.5mo girl is 185g and eating small (19-24g) rat pups. That's about the size of a small adult mouse.

I second the suggestion of feeding your snake prey that is approximately the same width as the widest part of your snake. That should give your girl some size in a hurry!

Also, technically that white stuff isn't "poo". It's concentrated uric acid, known as urates. Same stuff you see in white bird poop. The liquid is urine, the crystals are urates. Just a natural part of the "peeing process".

Edit: Also, she'll shed when she's ready. My girl hasn't shed yet - though I'm eager for her to! As long as your snake is active, eating, and pooping/peeing regularly, I wouldn't worry. Keep the humidity between 50-60% until you see signs of shed.

    Oh no problem haha!

    Her enclosure size sounds fine!

And spraying water in her tank will help with the humidity, so you could do that.

I'll try to find bigger preys then or at least ask for the biggest mouse

Good answers so far, I agree that hoppers are a little small tho. My babies that size are eating medium mice or fat rat fuzzies. However my hatchlings are not on a maintenance schedule and grow quick.

Definitely agree that the mouse is probably too small. My 2.5 month old girl is about 180 grams now and she's eating a large mouse every 5 days and I'm pretty sure she's outgrown it. I'm switching her to rat weanlings. She stopped eating small mice about a month ago.
