My first clutch exited the egg on day 68 do not be alarmed. Some have eggs go into the 70ish day mark. What temp did you incubate and did your temps fluctuate?
Re: What is the longest anyone has had a baby stay in the egg?
I've been breeding a while and I have never had eggs go this long. I was incubating 7 other clutches at the same time in the same incubator and they all hatched within 55 days. The temp may fluctuate about a degree or so when the fan turns on.
Has this particular female laid for you in the past? I have one female who produces late bloomers. 2 seasons in a row babies did not emerge until after day 60. If you have not already, I would cut the eggs.
Re: What is the longest anyone has had a baby stay in the egg?
It is now day 66 and I cut the eggs on day 55. The snakes are alive inside the eggs but I guess I'm going to have to evict them or start charging them rent. I'm just amazed they are still in the eggs at this point. Thank you for the help. I'll keep you posted.
Re: What is the longest anyone has had a baby stay in the egg?
Today is day 69 and still no hatchlings, but one is finally peeking. This was a first for me! Temp is on 90. I cut the eggs on day 55 and due to the heat in the incubator the one that is peeking through is because the inner egg looks to be just about dried up because it was cut so many days ago!
