    Any help appreciated with ve-300

    Just acquired a new ve-300 and this is also my first thermostat. How much heat tape can I use, is tere I size that is better, any tweaking that can be done to make it better,......etc any help/photos or videos would be awesome. Thanks.

    Um, I'm not sure if there is a limit. I would think there is. But you can run two racks with that Stat and it should be fine. Any size heat tape works with it. I'm not sure what you mean by tweaking, but I've never heard of any T-stat mods. Maybe put a sticker on it? Lol

    The 300 will take 700 watts total ( it must be the same size tape )
    You can't mix 3,4 and 5 inch tape with different watts.
    No changes needed.

    Check on Reptilebasics.com I have seen the watt per inch there. They have it under heat tape specs I believe. But it is there on the site somewhere with the heat tape.

    The vivarium 300 of which we have several is limited by watts only. The wider the tape the more watts. The more watts the shorter the tape it will handle.
