    Getting back to bps

Hi guys, I want to get back into ball pythons. Last ball python I had was a pastel. Now I'm looking into getting a Bumblebee female as a hatchling and I hope to one day breed it. I want opinions on the Bumblebee ball python and suggestions as to what cool morphs I can possibly get out of it.

Almost anything that's not recessive. Spider and pastel go good with just about anything.

Only thing with the spider gene is the "wobble" some people are ok with it, some aren't.

Get a Lemon Blast male? I believe thats a solid first male to have for begining diversity. In my opinion it's hard to make a Bumblebee look any cooler, maybe add the Lesser gene.

So you suggest getting a lemon blast? And ideally I'd like to start with a female. What exactly is the "wobble"?

Lemonblast is a pastel x pinstripe, and they are cool, however like most things with pastel they tend to brown out some with age. Best thing to do on the wobble is look up spider wobble on youtube. Videos will show it better than I can explain it.

You'll have to google the Spider wobble to get your own opinion but it's basically a random nuerological condition that generally causes them to move their heads in strange directions as they move around. My Spider doesn't have it in the least but I still risk her offpring having it. I have my personal beliefs behind the cause of it but it boils down to just another opinion. As far as a first snake I do think that a Lemon Blast male is a good decision as you can breed him to so many animals for great results. Starting with that male you can then pick up single gene hatchling females for really cheap to raise up. Some people like to start with girls but that's mostly just for economical reasons. If I stared over I would buy a nice 2 gene male like a Lemon Blast from a very reputable breeder and spare no expence. Then pick up all your girls for cheap looking for deals but keep your eye on quality. Look to mate him to Pastels, Spiders, Lessers, nice bright reduced normals or even another 2 gene female. After my first breeding season I'll have produced at least a few Lemon Blasts and I plan on keeping them probably forever if one's a male.

I don't understand of why to start of with a male. Aren't the females more expensive? I thought the female is what mattered most. Someone please help me understand.

The prices depend on the morphs. The rarer the morph, the more expensive (i think). A normal female will likely cost less then a male morph.

    Re: Getting back to bps

    Okay that's understandable
, but let's say I breed the Lemmon blast to the normal. I'll end up having 25% pastel 25% pinstripe 25%lemmonblast 25% normal right? How would I get a morph with more traits
