This is the boa I might adopt
http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/pet/4597831132.html
Let me know what you guys think. Does he look healthy? Could he get any bigger? Should I trust craigslist (he might be aggressive?)
I'm prepared he may bite me which intimidates me a bit because I've been bitten by a ball python from CL (he was rarely handled) and it actually hurt a little. What is a boa bite comparable to?

They're asking about 150 dollars too much.

I should add that IF I decide to go with him, it would be free to a good home and they would have to transport. I don't 'buy' pets, I rescue animals in need.

Pretty cool that you can just tell 'em you are going to rescue it and not pay...and make them bring it to you!
I can't work deals to save my life, let alone work a deal like that.

I'm not seeing where he needs an upgrade - his body condition and weight look good. The price is high for a male normal though.
I would offer $100 if I really wanted it, and probe it when I got home as I've had to feminize two male snake names over the past year.

That's awesome! Plus I don't know much about Boas so I was probably wrong about the price once I took a look at it as I can't tell if it's a normal. Sorry about that. I was thinking it was a normal Columbian Red Tail Boa but I really can't tell from the pics as I'm not at all familiar with anything but the pricing of normals. I routinely find them priced at 40 around here.

Just guessing from the pictures, he doesn't look to be aggressive. If your worried about being bit, well it is a snake. Just be careful, good luck.

Boas are extremely common, in case you weren't aware. More than half the ones I find on CL are because "it got too big", "Spouse/roommate is afraid of it", "No longer have time for it", etc. In other words they want it gone. Many ads even said FREE IF GONE TODAY MUST GO ASAP. Well if they want it gone or want a good home for it that should be their goal, not getting their money back from buying it.

I agree 100% and I'm aware...I jus wouldn't imagine having much luck with doing it the way you mentioned-last time I rescued a snake off CL it was definitely underfed but I wasn't able to get it for free not was I able to get the guy to deliver to me 40 miles north...I just felt bad for the snake and did what I could to help the little guy out. Again, kudos for getting the guy to give you the boa for free.
