Introducing myself and need some advice
Hello iv just joined but i have owned snakes for about 3 years now.
I have a male ball python and a female ball python both around 8-9 months. I got them in march from a breeder. My male is totally docile and never bitten, my female however strikes at me everytime i go near her and she bites me all the time, iv made sure she has lots of hides, i put her in a smaller enclosure, i triple checked temps hot and cool end, iv upped her food, iv left a sock in her viv so she gets my smell, iv left her alone apart from feeding and still the second i go near her viv she is already into strike position even before iv opened the viv. Any one have an experience with this? Many thanks xx

What are her temps like? Post a picture of the setup you have her in if you can.

Thats how one of my females was for a few months when i get her also. I just toughed it out and handled her as much as possible and eventually she calmed down. About how old/big is she? grams and length? Mine was pretty young Id put her around my neck as she couldnt reach my ear or anything to nip it. When i would go to grab her from her viv or off my neck she would usually strike but not bite.

I had a couple feisty ones that were younger and for one it was a series of events which took more time to overcome. First was a new home with me, then he went into shed, then I moved him from QT to a permanent home upstairs so it took a while before he stopped being strike happy. I just had to leave him alone for a coupe feedings then pick him up as if nothing ever happened. He would even strike the plastic tub really hard if I was near it.
