    Help!

I did my best to get some decent quality pictures. I've had her for about a week and I just noticed this. The previous owner said she did have a bite on her lip which I'm guessing is the injury in the first picture but I just noticed this pink rashy looking thing on the top of her head. Is this maybe part of he bite healing over or something else? Do you think a vet visit is in order? Should I be treating it with anything?

    Re: Help!

Getting a closer look it's almost definitely a part of the same injury. It looks like the rat managed to get the entire side of her head in it's mouth. :/ It had to have happened at least a few weeks ago and it doesn't seem to bother her, I even got her to eat only a few days after bringing her home. I just don't want to neglect it and have it get any worse.

Yeah I'd say it's part of the same injury.

Keep an eye on it as it might re-open slightly with the next shed.

    Re: Help!

Going to pick up some neosporin for the one on her bottom lip since that one looks like it did open back up with her shed. But I think the top one is nearly healed, just scared me because I hadn't noticed it when I first got her and thought something happened to her while I've had her or that it was scale rot or something.

    Re: Help!

Make sure you use the neosporin without painkiller in it.

    Re: Help!

It's scale rot for sure. My big girl just was cured of this. I soaked her in 85 degree water with betadine added in until wen stirred it has a weak tea color...... Also make sure that her "home" is disinfected along with her water bowl...... Lastly make sure that her cage doesn't have any place where she is goin to be in laying in water......meaning if she spills her water bowl clean it quick.....
