    Question Looking for breeders.....

I am looking for breeders in or around the Alliance, Ohio area.... I only want Ball Pythons... And I would like them to be under 1 year old.... Also, if anyone happens to have or know of an Axanthic BP that isn't too expensive around the same area, that would be Amazing!....
    Thankyou,
    Ryry

Why would you spend money on more snakes when you just made another thread saying you don't have the money for vet costs?

Keeping reptiles requires a lot of investment, not only financially but with time as well. You have to commit to learning as much as you can about the species you're wanting to own so you're not putting your animals at risk. I just visited your page and realized you're quite young. I know it's fun and exciting getting new pets, but it's a huge responsibility and you should be making sure that you can afford all the possible costs that come along with them. Do you have a job? Getting rid of sick snakes and buying new ones in their place isn't appropriate. What if your new one gets sick? What would you do if it got a respiratory infection? Do you know what symptoms to look for?

    Re: Looking for breeders.....

Because we don't have money for vet costs!..... I wanted to know about breeders so I could find out about them for later.... We don't have the money right now but I would, in the future, like to get another Ball Python and I don't want to get them from any more pet stores.... Also there is a lot of personal reasons why we wouldn't be able to even get him to the nearest vet which, in my case, is in Akron!....

I'm in Canada so I'm not familiar with your area. I know for me, the nearest reptile vet with a good reputation is an hour away. I'd absolutely make the drive.
But in any case, I suggest not purchasing any pets until you DO have money to cover any vet costs that may or may not arise with your animals. Posting a thread about wanting to get rid of your snake because of financial issues and an inability to go to a vet and then posting another thread immediately afterward inquiring about snake breeders definitely gives the wrong impression.

    Re: Looking for breeders.....

Okay.... I don't want to be questioned..... I am young.... But that doesn't matter.... I can't get a job, obviously.... And I know a lot about my snake and others.... And Back Pythons in general.... I know what it take to take care of them AMD I do take care of mine.... The pet store did not! He came with mites and had already had this happen before I even got him.... Its common for it to happen again and it did..... Like I said, I have personal reasons for my financial problems... When we got him everything was fine.... We have cured his mites and given him a good home..... This is something that came out of nowhere.... And I knew what it was but knew I wouldn't be able to afford the vet costs.... I seriously wanted some breeders in my are and that's it!!! If this post is gonna be some kind of problem for you then all well.... Thats your problem, not mine... I don't care about your opinion at this point..... And I don't want any questions or any pitty or any advice on this post...... I just want breeders.... If I need to take this post down, I will along with the other one..... Because this is ridiculous.... I obvious Ely knew what I was getting into when I got Minho..... And I don't need to be questions just because I don't have money for something and because I'm you get than the average person on this site..........

I commend you for wanting to find him a home with someone who can care for his medical needs. That's great.
My concern was with your inquiry about breeders. Save your money. Do your research. Learn as much as you can about ball pythons and their possible medical conditions. Invest in a good thermostat and heat tape (this can be expensive). Set up an enclosure with proper husbandry and only then should you start seriously inquiring about breeders. In my opinion (and I'm sure a lot of people have the same opinion so there's no need to get snappy) you should be covering all of your bases, including making sure that you have money set aside for your animals if they should need care prior to purchasing any.

    Re: Looking for breeders.....

You don't seem to be getting something.... When I got my snake.... Everything was set!.... All expensive were off to the side..... But again, due to personal reasons which involve serious injuries..... We weren't able to keep that money for him.... It had to be used on other things and I am sorry for getting upset.... I just don't like to be judged by my age and by people that do not know me... And I also didn't appreciate you questioning me when you don't know the whole story.... So I will tell you, I have done my research, I care for my snake, and as I've already pointed out... I'm not planning on getting another snake right now.... Actually not until next year probably..... I just wanted to find some breeders for now so I will know in the future.... Again, this post was meant to help me do that.... So your reply was not neccisary and it could have been done privately or perhaps in another way..... I know what I got myself into getting a snake.... I did my research and had everything set and ready for Minho..... And I since I did this once.... I will wait until I can do it again.... I don't intend for any of my animals to be in a bad home..... So thankyou for your concern..... But I don't need it.......

I don't think there is any reason to be upset. What M&M is trying to explain is that it is not prudent to ask about buying another animal when you are thinking of giving your current one away because of lack of funds to care for him. Nice Axanthics are not cheap.

Make no mistake, you are doing the right thing asking for help, but it is something to think about. Yes, this incident was an unexpected event, but this is again, why you should really be ready to have a snake, just like any other animal. They can live up to 30 years and things are bound to come up. I don't think she is judging you by your age, other than it may be important to wait awhile longer. I know you want the best for your current snake, but isn't it a bit better to not worry about breeders right now and get him well first?
