So I'm going through my evening checks and turning the lights off on my lizards, when I notice something not quite right in my basilisk habitat. My brown female was on the floor, instead of her usual perch behind a log in the back of the enclosure, and she isn't running away as I approach, she's posturing up to me. I open the lid and use my snake hook to move her from the spot, and I find seven eggs sitting there. I knew none of them were fertile, as she's in there with a green male, but I candled them just to make sure. Sure enough none of them were fertile, but two had a few veins that were extremely weak.
I didn't think to get any pics before I discarded them. I'm just glad this was her problem, I thought she was getting constipated. She wouldn't let me handle her but I'm pretty sure seven is all she will have. Ill check her again in the morning to make sure. I thought it was pretty cool. Maybe now ill get a male brown and female green and see what I can get.
