BumbleBee male breeder with bad wobble

Hey guys. I am breaking into the breeder scene as a hobby and just picked up my stud male which I was going to use as my main stud. He is a gorgeous BumbleBee. Issue is, when I got him it is clear that he has a pretty bad wobble. Bit of corkscrewing as well. Now knowing that...

How do you guys and gals feel about using a severe wobbler as breeding stock? I know all animals with Spider in them have the possibility to wobble and that just because dad wobbles bad doesn't mean babies will also. It is just hard to watch him do it and it made me think. What are your opinions? Thanks in advance.

I mean regardless they will have. As far as severity it's not genetic. And non bad wobble can produce train wrecks and vise versa. I personally wouldn't just because the wobble could be amplified. But I also wouldn't purchase a bad wobble for anything more then a Pet

Deal with enough spiders and you see how much of a non-issue even a bad wobble is. I wouldn't treat a bad wobble any different than one that doesn't show it at all when choosing breeding stock.

After hatching out my bees this year I can honestly say I wouldn't worry about the wobble. It's really not as big of a deal as some make it sound (at least not that I can see). The father of the clutch supposedly had "no wobble" but in reality, it is there, just not as bad as some others. He'll turn upside down if he's nervous while you're holding him. All of this clutch had the spider gene and there are some that seem like there's no wobble at all and some of them show a noticeable wobble. There's one in particular that wobbles and corkscrews like crazy. However, he's still a very aggressive eater although he does miss with a strike on occasion, he gets it on the second or third try and hasn't missed any meals yet since he started.

I wouldn't look for it, but I wouldn't let it deter me either.
Breed him you already own him.

I can't comment on a bad wobbler because I don't own one but I will say this. My adults don't corkscrew and only have a very slight expression of wobble and ive never produced a bad wobbler after 30+ spiders and combos.

Coincidence? I can't say for sure. Maybe.

Thank you all for the great feedback. I will breed my male BumbleBee and see for myself how I feel about the whole wobble issue. Awesome guys. Thanks.

Definitely use your handsome bee! I bought a beautiful hatchling male a year ago (his bday just past actually) and he has grown into a pretty bad wobbler but I don't mind it at all. He corkscrews in his tub and wobbles when it's feeding day and I have to offer him good like 1-4 times sometimes because he has very bad aim and usually gets frustrated. But he's going to be a breeder in my collection and I wouldn't hesitate at all to use any other bee as a breeder you should post up a pic of him! I'd love to see him
