Question recently new owner wary of cutie

So I recently got a ball python he's 3years old an tame when I picked him up he sat on my shoulders the whole ride home this was maybe 3-4 weeks ago. He was really well behaved but he's bit me a few times most recently was on my knee he bumped his nose on my knee scared himself an did it again and bit. So now I'm paranoid to hold him scared he'll bump my cheek or ear and latch on so when I hold him now I only keep him on my arm a and am super scared when he gets his face near my skin.any advice?

Just keep him away from your face. Simple.
A BP bite is a pretty harmless issue anywhere else. Keep handling him like you should and eventually it should grow out of it. Try to pay attention to what happens moments before you get bit to in out more hat the trigger is and avoid that. Could be him bumping his face like you said and it just startled him. Could be you are the one that bumped him without even realizing it and a natural reaction from the snake would be to defend itself and bite you.

Just stay clam and keep handling it. It will get better. Bites don't really hurt so don't worry about them too much.
