get a cardboard roll from the tissue you put in your bathroom
cut a straight line from any part of the roll
    bend it a little

viola! you have a half log

lol... i personally dont like half logs. i dont think they make the snake feel secure enough since they let so much light in.

yeah i feel the same way, i put one in roxys tank and she hasnt used it at all.Instead she likes to squeeze under her water bowl. Her water bowl is the best hide becuase its so big that it goes a little bit on the warm side and a bit more on the cool so she can choose which side of her hide to be on. I think im goin to take that half log outta there and give it to my crabs cuz she aint usin it.Maybe ill make like a little trap, well not really a trap but put somthing like.......i dunno, a piece of toilet paper in there a certain way and if i check on it and its moved i will know that she actually does use it, and if she wont use it i know sebastion (hermit crab) and the rest of his friends will use it.

and also, instead of a toilet paper roll cut in half, i made myslef two real nice coconut hides, they are easy to make and look a heck of alot better.

TAPE is a negative in any snake enclosure no matter how its used if there is one thing I have learned over the years in keeping snakes,, If there is a chance for a bad thing to happen it will... and beleive me tape sticks to snake skin like nothing else!!

I stick my half logs up against the side of the tank (I have a 40 gallon with contact paper on three sides) then used cheap plants from the craft store to close in the entry way a little more, seems to work well for me!
