new pet, which one ?

i think im goin to be gettin a new pet sometime soon but i have no clue what i want, im torn between another ball, another corn or a leopard gecko, i have been wanting one for the longest time (a leo) but i decided to get my snakes instead. I think just getting a snake would be alot more easy becuase i already know how to take care of them .Leos seem like alot more work and money,dont they eat like everyother day ?? so that means i would have to go buy crickets and meal worms weekly right ? and then gut load and dust.


and for the cage, they need a light and UTH right ?
if i got one i would be using newspaper becuase i heard about impaction and there little claws getting caught on the repti carpet so newspaper would be the best bet.Would a ten gallon work for its whole life ?

and would you recomend getting a baby or adult ?

i have heard about a breeder living in las cruces over here (1 hour away) and i heard he sells his leos to the pet store but i would rather get it from him then get it from the dumpy @$$ pet store.

ok i think thats it for now Whew ! that was kinda a rant but if anyone could answer my questions that would be great thanks

GET THE LEO!!! lol sorry. im thinking about a leo also. a 10gal is fine, all though im not sure if they need a UTH or not. the crickets arent much, unless its like a half hr drive to a petstore. the $1 for 12 at my local petstore. you do need a calcium dish though. not to bad. although, someone else will answer these questions better, im interested to read also

they eat everyday ? i dunno if im up to that.Although its not really a hassle its just snakes are SOO MUCH EASIER drop a rat in there every week and they are happy as can be.

my main thing is tho, i dont want to get anything that i cant take with me when we move, i will be moving from here (southern new mexxico) to somewhere on the east coast(maybe) and i dont know if a little leo is up to that drive. i know i can put my snakes in a rubbermaid with a heat pad and they will be fine in hotel rooms and i could stop along the way at a pet store and pick up some food for them but i cant do that for a leo, you know ?

i know a few people who i could definitly give him away to when i leave but i dont want to have to do that .Maybe i will just get one when we settle down in our new house in about a year (but gosh darn it i want one !!, i even know where to find a breeder too !)

becuase they eat everyday, i cant have a big cooler or rubbermaid filled with crickets and meal worms and stuff for a cross country trip, i dont think it would work and my mom definitly wont be thrilled either.

you could buy a seperate, smaller cooler though. youd be suprised how little they are.

but i think im goin to talk to donna (the breeder) about if she knows anybody giving away a ball.She told me people are always trying to dump there snakes at her house and sometimes she takes them (if they are in ok condition) so maybe ill ask her if she knows of anyone giving away one. She asked me if i wanted an albino burm but......i said no.

thats what im thinkin right now.And plus you cant handle a leo very much it stresses them out alot.

i kinda want a red tail but my mom said no for right now.

but i think ill call the breeder tonight and tell her to be on the look out for me.Or if she knows any ball python breeders around here.
