Need Egg help! PLEASE!!
I had a clutch of 12 eggs from a BP we did not know was a female. We researched and did everything we could to be prepared. got an incubator followed every basic rule we could and within a couple of weeks the eggs dimpled very badly. We upped the humidity a little more than normal, and now are dealing with eggs getting moldy. I tried to treat the mold by wiping off moisture and lightly dusting with gold bond powder as suggested by several people but it does not seem to be helping and I really need to know what to do here, I can't just pull the moldy eggs out because they are all stuck together as we did not get to the eggs to get them out of her enclosure for a couple days after we believe they were layed. Is there something better I can do to treat the mold? should I cut those eggs off? I can't pull them off due to fear I will tear the remaining good eggs but I don't want to loose the whole clutch due to mold. this is the first time I have ever had eggs as we have never breed anything but Garter snakes before. please help! I need to know what to do and fast.

Re: Need Egg help! PLEASE!!
Can you get us some pictures of the clutch so we can see how bad it is etc?
Also, have you candled the eggs to make sure they are fertile?

I have no idea how to get a picture here to show you? I have pics on my sesktop but can not figure out how to attach. they look pretty bad though. how do I attach pics? and yes when candled I saw veins in all 12 eggs in the beggining. I can only see that about 4 or 5 are developing at this point though it is hard to candle again due to dimpling mold and positioning of the eggs in the "cluster"

What is the humidity level of your incubator? What temperature are you using?

Re: Need Egg help! PLEASE!!
The digital hygrometer says 99%, the other one always says between 85 and 95, condensation has been forming on the lid since the eggs were put in it but several breeders told me to up the humidity when they first dimpled so bad on day 21 of incubation, so I added a little, and I stress little more water to the vermiculite, and put a small bowl of water outside the tub in the incubator. I also put press and seal over the tub instead of the loose fitting plastic lid. I also turned the circulation fan off as it was advised to me that that was probably what stripped them of their humidity. they never seemed to plump back up. and recently mold started developing. I was told to gently wipe off mold and dust with bold bond foot powder. that has not seemed to stop the mold. the temp has according to a point and click thermometer, and two different digital thermometers of different brands never gotten above 90.5 and never dropped below 86... did I over correct on the humidity level? the eggs are now at day 51

Re: Need Egg help! PLEASE!!
You will want your incubator to be as close to 100% as possible. Open the incubator once per week to circulate the air. Press and seal will help hold the humidity. As for the temperature, you will want to keep the temp as stable as possible at 90 degrees fahrenheit. What thermometers are you using? You want the +/- variation for the reading to be as small of a number as possible.

Re: Need Egg help! PLEASE!!
The temp stays right about 90 the whole time, the fluctuation is just the extremes of adjusting the thermostat in the beginning and once when changing thermostats to one That was newer, and opening the incubator to check on the eggs once or twice a week... I really think the humidity is definitely at 100% nothing seems dry in there not even the eggs, concerned there may be too much moisture.
