    question regarding new baby pied

Hi , just got me a 4 1/2 month old female pied that was on f/t hopper mice . She took a live rat pup on 7/09/14 the day after I received her and then she shed/pooped last night 7/18/14 . This morning ,7/19/14 I got her weighed at 119 grams empty. I just fed her this afternoon with another live rat pup. I just wonder if that is an average weight for a 4 month old baby . Appreciate your comments . Thanks .

    Hey there.

119 grams is right on track for 4 months of age (female). Typically you will see that roughly double by 8 months, and double again after 12.

All looks good from here. Nice move on the rat pups too!

Re: question regarding new baby pied

I think people tend to give too much importance to numbers.

Weight may vary greatly from one to another based on how fast the animal was started, prey size, feeding frequency etc.

To me it's more about their look and them looking plump and healthy.
