Heat tape?
Is there a way I can control the temperature of the tubs in racks while using heat tape without changing the type of tape I'm using?

You are using a thermostat with your heat tape, aren't you?

Re: Heat tape?
Other than the snakes themselves, a thermostat is the most important purchase you will make - it controls the temperature of the heat tape. It will protect your snakes from harm caused by high temperatures and ensure warm enough temperatures for proper digestion. Heat tape by itself does not do this (no matter what the manufacturer may claim).
The Herpstat brand is what I, and many others, recommend.

If you are not regulating with a thermostat, I hope you don't have any animals in the rack yet.
If you do, unplug the tape.

I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you that:
A-) Breeding size animals, even normals, are EXPENSIVE
and
B-) It takes years for BP to be big and mature enough to breed.
Put that time in and do research - a lot of it. I'm not trying to be mean, but it really sounds like you need it.

1.0 Normal BP
1.0 Pastel BP
1.1 Black and White Banded Cal-King
2.3 Dogs

I have done my research. Not saying I am an expert because I'm not but I have researched for about 5 years. 4 before I got my first and only snake. And a year of experience with him I hope to be breeding by the end of next year. It's just I don't know why but I just can't seem to figure out heat tape lol. But I think I have a good understanding now. I just have one more question and I'll be posting it in a minute.

Then dont forget about QT of at least 90 days but depending who and where your additions come from 6 months could be better as well as all your other expenses.
