    Ultramel/Crider

Did you guys see this yet? http://jkrballstreetjournal.com/2014...russo-results/

Pretty cool. Eventually I want to get my feet wet with ultracarmel and it's nice to know I don't have to worry about compatibility.

So now the question is, are we going to have another butter lesser thing, or can we just call them crider line ultramels?

lol I just realized I put ultracarmel. *Ultramel... that's what I get for getting up too early.

And yep pretty sure it's going to be another butter/lesser sugar/calico thing.

There is question now about the het female used from the original test pairing...after no visuals from the different line cross, she was bred to her own ultramel line later and still produced no visuals.

Personally I think this is great news, there is enough confusion about different genetics already as it is...and our hobby unfortunately has it's share of less than honest people who would tell you whichever line you want to hear to make a sale.

I didn't realize he was doing this cross, a good friend of mine bred a pair of visual ultramel x criders this season to try to prove out the compatibility and get rid of the confusion surrounding it...looks like he'll have a whole clutch of visuals on the way for sure now!

Until you read Mike Wilbanks' article on the Calico/Sugar debate. I've always considered Sugar combos the better looking of the "lines"......and by his experience he believes the same.
