help - get a pied or het pied?
i've been growing a 2012 spider het pied female and i think she'll be ready for 2015 or year after that. so i'm trying to find her a suitable male.
i'm undecided on whether to get a visual pied male or a pinstripe het pied.
though i like the odds of getting visual pieds and being sure that all other offspring are hets, the chance for a spinner pied is also very tempting. the only thing holding me back is having poss. hets. i personally will not try to breed poss hets, and i doubt if other breeders will be interested.
what's the better option?

I would go with a visual Pied. With as cheap as het Pied snakes are, a possible het may be rather hard to sell, even if it is an incomplete dominate or dominant gene animal and possible het Pied (ie, a Spider possible het Pied), you would probably only be able to get the price of the incomplete dominate or dominate (Spider) for it. At least with a visual Pied, all the babies are definitely het.

I agree, and visuals have come down over the last few years so you wont break the bank.

I'd think more about where you want your breeding to go and less about how much you'll get for the het vs phet babies. As a new and unknown breeder (at least I'm assuming you are), people are going to be skeptical of hets that come from you, so they may think of them as phets anyway when deciding to purchase or not.
If what you really want to produce is a spinner pied, then I'd definitely get the pinstripe het pied, and even more so if you like pinstripe pieds or other spinner morphs. But, if pieds are you favorite and you want to produce lots of them, spinner pied being just one of the ones on that list, then I'd get the visual pied.

Re: help - get a pied or het pied?
If you have the budget you should get the best male you can afford, this will help your odds, and help with the sale of your future hatchlings.
