    Pastel Het Albino

Hello I was wondering if it was a good deal to buy a clutch of pastel het albino babies? 3.3 all for $150? Good or no? All are healthy and good lookers

    Re: Pastel Het Albino

I'm not sure why you would to be honest.

It shouldn't be very difficult to find pastel het pieds and the males will be mature 2 years earlier than the females.

Plus one male can easily cover three females in a season.

If pushed I might buy a couple of the best looking females and then, in a year or so's time find an unrelated male pastel pied.

Good deal, yes. you could easily sell 2 of the males and make your money back. That is the reason I do not believe they are het albino, the price is so low, I bet it's too good to be true.

    short answer: no.

if you want to produce albinos, i would breed albino to albino, or albino to het albino. het to het only gives you 25% albinos, and the rest will only be possible hets. with an inexpensive morph like albino where visuals are affordable and readily available, there is no reason to do het to het breeding.

you could get the females and buy a visual albino male 1 year later. one male should be enough, and when the females are hets, you want that male to be a visual.

that is all assuming that you have intentions to breed them. if you just want pets, or own a little pet store and want to re-sell them, then it doesnt matter and it might be a good deal for you.
