Emergency Medication or Products to Have on Hand

    Hello everyone!

I am going to pick up my first ball python on Saturday, and I have everything I need other than any medication or emergency products on hand. Are there any you all would recommend having? I definitely would like to pick up some provent-a-mite. I just feel like I can never be too careful.

    Thanks!

Provent-a-mite is always good to have on hand. I've used Reptile Spray by Natural Chemistry to treat new arrivals for mites just in case (spray on a paper towel, and then wipe the snake with the paper towel). I also like to have Betadine (or a generic) and an antibiotic cream without pain relievers (the ones with pain relievers are toxic to reptiles, and cream is better than ointment).

Congrats on getting your first ball python!

Thanks a ton! Betadine sounds like a great idea. And antibiotic cream like neosporin?

Exactly! Just make sure it's cream, not ointment.
