    First Python!

This is my first snake! Just wanted to share. He/she is in its first shed with us. I was curious when I hold him/her he sometimes breathes hard is this a sign of stress? I've only had him a week. I got him at Petco. He hasn't struck at us or anything and seems to be super chill.

Also any advice or insight you guys could offer would be great. I've never been more fascinated/obsessed with anything than this past week or so. I feel like I have a new passion!

Just start reading the different threads and learn how to use search. Search can find almost any answer to any question you may have.

Breathing heavy and even hissing can be very common for snakes. Some do it more than others but as long as your calm they should be calm. If you want to hear some heavy breathing and loud hissing check out some blood pythons.

    Welcome!!!

    Hi,

Make sure to raise the humidity to 60-70% or provide him with a humid hide.

It will make his shed a lot easier.

Welcome to the obsession. You may have already seen this, but here is a link to the Caresheet thread. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ius)-Caresheet

Always a great place to start, then you can build on it from there. Best of luck with the new one.
