    Anyone wonna trade?

I have been having terrible trouble with my humidity so I went out and got noew subtrate, the coconut stuff, and I am going to mix it with my wood chips. I also got this water fall, zoomed. I am hoping that will take care of it. If the water fall brings the humidity too high running, then I will just turn ot off and hopefully the standing water will be enough. I have tried all manner of things to up the humidity. Has anyopne had experience with water falls?

I haven't, I like the looks but I'm afraid the noise would stress the girls out. Or the cat would want to play in it and rip a hole in the screen like she did this weekend...

Not with the water falls but I use the coconut husk that you have to soake in water to get it to expand. and it keeps my humidity at like 53 to 60 with out spraying and just the water bowl over his heating pad. it also cleans up easy and hold heat for the night time just like the ground would.

I just got a reptile humidifier that runs a small tube into the tank.
I can adjust the humidity by the amount of open scrren on the top of the tank. It works great. I too was having a hard time keeping my humidity levels up, but that did the trick. ( i use repti-bark for substrate)

I am so happy. Kitty seems to really like the falls. He never soaked in his bowl before but he will climb into the falls and stay there. He also likes to hide behind it. I am still working on the humidity, but I think once I move him to the big (34L-17W-15T) rubbermade it will be perfect. I am so happy.

Kitty finshed his first perfect independant shed, in a year of familyship, sunday. I am convinced it was the falls that did it, that and a little eco-earth mixed in with the bark substrate. I am so proud. he loves that falls. I didn't have to use any of the tricks I normally do, or help him out of his shed at all. Yippie

i plan on buying one for the hermit crabs tank, they also require high humidity levels becuase they have gills and need moisture to breathe through them so i think ill pick on of those up , either that or put an air stone in the water dish.

You can build a home falls, but I bought this one because I found it at the same time that I was "in the money" I will see if I can get my friend to take a picture with his cam so I can post it. There are all kinds of selfcontaied little water falls that aren't neccassarily for animals out there there, that will work just fine as well, they can be found at gift shops (hallmark and such) but they are generally smaller. There are lots of ways to build one, using good glue and water seal products you could build one out of lots of things, THe one I built in the past I made out of a fish tank decoration, I just had to get the pump, and reservior set up. This one is a ZooMed, though I cannot find it on the website. I will get that picture and a picture of a small home falls that we have in the house.
