Yes, people have benn known to use air stones in their water dishes to up the humidity. You have to secure it or the snake will move it around, though.

hey i never knew that but would it hurt the bp if it was in the water bowl or wouldn't it like scare him or what ever? if not i am about to put it in because i am really tired of spraying every hour. the humidity drops just as fast as it rises.

An alternative is the Tropic Air humidifier, which you hook up to an aquarium-style air pump.

I've tried the Tropic-Aire and it works great. Just be sure to buy an air pump rated for a larger tank than what you have.

But with glass tanks and screen lids, by far the easiest solution is to cover with damp towels and/or duct tape (outside top of screen lid). Also I've heard using Bed-a-Beast substrate does wonders for humidity - plus you can feed on it and it looks natural.

we use a large water dish on top of the undertank heat pad..cover 3/4 to 1/2 the top of a 20g long tank with a glass cover(sometimes!) and Lucy has never had a bad shed...humidity seems to hover around 50% if you can believe the gauge.

I would put some money away for a tropicaire just follow the wise advice of TG - an air stone would probably be fine to use in the water bowl but I could also see it frightening the BP out of drinking (possibly).

I've not tried the towels inside the tank - the humidity goes up just fine on top of the screen top.

Have you tried a humid hide? It would be all you need - if your snake will use it. My bp won't, that's why I use the Tropic-Aire and the damp towel methods.
