    Darker after shed? Or burn?

Sometimes I feel super silly for asking so many questions. I just put in a new bulb (new brand, last one kept blowing out within two weeks) and so it's been in place for about 2-3 hours. Noticed that the temp was higher than comfortable (mid upper 90s) and I immediately shut it off. (I use an accurite thermometer on top of his hide... didn't have one with the probes at the store (out of stock, I guess, so it's just like the kind you'd put on the table to see the room temp). His face looked much darker than usual but I couldn't tell if it's because of the lighting (I usually only take him out at night and I try to keep the lights low), he had just shed, or if he had a burn. I'm going to try to get a picture...sometimes I get really paranoid about this stuff.

edit: actually I checked the temp on the floor and it's in the mid/low 90s it appears so maybe I'm panicking for no good reason. What do burns look like anyways? when I search google, all I see are VERY severe looking burns.

So the lighting might be the culprit here anyways, since it's a different bulb, and maybe I never noticed, but he looks more pinkish in color than he normally does. Just wanted a second opinion just in case.

Or maybe I'm being paranoid. I was just super shocked when I saw that it was that hot in the part of the tank he was hanging out in.

As long as he can escape a situation that WOULD burn him, I doubt that he is burned.

By by that I mean if he gets too hot he will just move to the other side of the tank.

If there is no escaping the heat, then there may be a problem.

He looks normal to me and not burned, do you have anything to control the temp of that light?
