At that size, he could easily take small-medium rats without a problem. I don't go by weight so much as looking at the snake and even my adult breeders are on small rats since the size can vary when ordering f/t in bulk. As long as it's not larger than he is around, you shouldn't have any issues.

Re: What size should I feed my ball?
Firstly you need to check his weight, then I can check on my feeding table. Second you need to get him onto a 5-7 feeding cycle. Then he will grow nicely.

Definitely feed him small rats. 1 every week would be perfect for him.

If he is a male, id cut the line at small rats every 7-10 days! keeps em from getting fat and lazy!

Re: What size should I feed my ball?
Thanks all! I plan on feeding frozen, but the people before had him on live mice, so I'm going to start with a live rat and see how he takes it. From then I'll try to convert to frozen and start him on a regular schedule.

Just make sure you supervise him with the rat, and have a pencil or pen nearby to stick in the rat's mouth, in case it tries to bite him while constricting. And it probably wouldn't hurt to try a frozen/thawed rat first, if you wanted to. You never know, he may take it right away.

If he was on live mice, get a live rat pup, closer to same size he is used to. Or you could luck out and he just want to eat regardless of frozen/thawed, live or fresh killed. Never know until you try

Re: What size should I feed my ball?
I'd rather start with frozen and just try that, but that means a 30 minute drive, whereas there is a local pet store down the street that sells *only* live that's like 5 minutes away. I wouldn't have an issue driving the 30 minutes but it's my parents who have to drive, so I'm trying to make it easier on them
