Inactive Ball... at night?
Hey guys, so I'm sure some of you have seen my frantic post from two days ago when I first got my Ball. He's a calm and friendly normal but I got to see his vicious side when I fed him on Wednesday. He's feeding on adult mice, and boy is he a monster when he's hungry!
So he ate on Wednesday and I hear it takes about 2-3 days to digest and they usually find themselves in the warmer areas whilst doing so.. but yesterday I saw that he switched from his normal side (his warm area which manages 88-93º, right now it's at 91º) to his cooler side (which is in the low 80ºs). I haven't seen him since, which I suppose is a good thing! As he relaxed on the cool side of the enclosure, I decided to pry in on him and his skin felt warm... which to me seems normal, right? After that, I left him be. I'm trying not to be that overbearing owner. (My avatar was of him when I first put him in his enclosure. He slid and quickly went to his hide!)
But is it normal for your Ball Pythons to be inactive at night as well? I'm quite curious to know. I assume he's still digesting, but on the cooler side? I misted his warm side a bit and noticed a little bedding in his water dish which implied to me he was a little active while I was sleep.. but has anyone experienced an inactive Ball during the night, too?
Thanks, and I find this site to be extremely helpful and reassuring when I find myself worrying too much about him! You guys really helped me out a lot. You all deserve a round of applause for being so helpful.

Re: Inactive Ball... at night?
I've read a million times here... "a hiding ball is a happy ball" mine only really comes out at night a day or so before she is due to eat. Other then that, She is in her hides. Somerimes the warm, sometimes the cool side! I have 2 identical sides so I know she is choosing where to be based on her temp, not hide preference. Are yours identical?

Yep, both hides are the identical. And I finally got a decent temp after tampering with the heat a bit. It's ideal and consistent. I suppose he just prefers the cooler side? After touching him he was warm, but not hot.
He's been "relaxing" on the cool side for about a day, so I'm wondering when he's going to go back.
