Hard to tell with the bad lighting. Could be mink? If you say greyish blue perhaps just a blue?

Better pictures would be good but it looks like a Russian in that lighting. Either way, I'm leaning more towards Blue than Mink.

It looks more minkish on my screen. Better picture with natural sunlight will help.

I have to ask this and PLEASE dont anyone take it the wrong way. Why does anyone care what kind of rats they have? Unless you are breeding for pets does it matter? If you breed for feed does it matter? I have seen many post here about what kind of rats do I have and its really starting to make me wonder. Im not trying to be rude or even an ass about the question in hand, just curious as to the question. I raise rats for my snakes feed and have some that are solid grey, some half grey half white, some solid black, some half black half white, and some solid white. Ive even got one snake for some reason I can not get her to eat a black rat, but as soon as I throw a solid white one in there she attacks it. So is there a reason to breed or have only one type of rat?

If you are looking to sell extras sometimes stores only want white to sell as feeders. Other than that breed what you like to look at. Keep in mind though the more you like the looks of them the more it wears on you to kill them. Other than my white rat rack my entire collection is pretty much all dumbo. I had one guy complain just last week about that..took them home his daughter saw the "cute rats big ears" and proceed to throw a fit when they were fed off LOL

Op I am kinda leaning towards mink but a clearer better lit picture would really help.

Re: what kind of rat do I have?

Breeding rats and playing with their genetics is actually more fun than the ball pythons. And gives me something to do in between breeding seasons.

I've been selectively breeding my rats for certain looks for a few years now. They are exactly how I want them to look. But now I want to improve the shape of their dumbo ears.
And because I've been working on my line for a while and they have certain looks and genes, they're really high in demand in the pet trade. Selling 2 pups can pay to feed the colony for the month. Selling 1 pup can pay for bedding for 2 months. They're essentially paying for themselves. And I don't think I could do that if I had all black or all white rats.

Re: what kind of rat do I have?

I would say that just because you feed them doesn't mean you cant like them. Rats can be great pets and a lot of fun if they are socialized. As mentioned above pretty rats can be good business too.
