I'm a paranoid new snake owner.... I have had my ball a little over a month now. She eats every 4 days. Had had a perfect shed already and has had a great temperament. Everything had been great. I realized the other day she has been "weak" in the rear 1/4 of her body. For example, when I hold her, she would just let that 1/4 hang and not wrap around my arm. I have been panicking. She did eat 2 days ago and that made me feel better. Tonight I had get out for a while and about 5 minutes after I told my girlfriend that I think the snake has been off lately because I think she needs to poop, she pooped as I was putting her back in her tank. Since then, she has been exploring her tank like she use to at night. Could it have been that she was uncomfortable because she needed to poop? Does that make sense? Thanks for any input!

Different snakes act differently. It is not unusual for a ball python who needs to relieve themselves to avoid putting pressure on the back part of the body, rather like you prefer not to put pressure on your tummy when you need to go. Younger ball pythons do it more than adults, in my experience.

I would watch her for a few days, just to be sure her behavior doesn't change for the worse.

Well i also noticed you said she had been on a 4 day feed schedule, What is her deification like? My Bp's when they "sausage" butt will kinda let there tail end lay limp, UNTIL they release all the junk, then its back to being strong again. She could just be a ill bunged up. Look at her end and see if she "is thicker" then normal around the tail with no tapering off.

Good point, my boas and kings will all usually wrap a tail around something - a finger, my wrist or arm - to anchor themselves, while my BP's rarely do. I think someone here named his BP "Plop" because he's happy to just plop down and stay wherever you put him.

yes, it definitely was. now since she went…. much better. she was sooo active last night too!!! climbing her branch again and exploring.
