Lucy's got some weird symptoms
I have a six year old corn named Lucy. He's got a lovely temperament. Super sweet. I've adopted him and had him for a year.
He she recently, and it went perfectly, nothing left behind. I tried feeding him yesterday, but he wouldn't eat. He's never refused a meal. Considering it's breeding season, I figured he may be fasting. But corns usually get feistier during breeding season. He seems even calmer. In fact, he seemed rather lethargic. He's not a huge cage mover to begin with, but at least he looks alert with tongue flicks when I open his viv. He just sort of sat there. So I left it open to see if he would try to leave like he usually does. Sure enough, he peaked his head out and seemed back to normal. I held him for a bit, and he returned to normal; searching around, slithering all over, constantly tongue flicking, being really active. His eyes are clear and his tongue is perfectly forked. I checked his mouth, nice and mucous free. But when he moves, his body pops. I can feel it all over, from the back of his head to the thick of his body. It feels and sounds like he has gas. I was thinking it was an RI, but everything else is normal. It's not coming from his nose either. I checked.
I bumped up the temperature in his viv to 90, and even though I've replaced his water two days ago, I gave him some new ones. I offered him a pinkie today, and he didn't take it. I heard wheezing from his nose today too, when I brought him out to check on him. But his mouth, nose, and tongue are all still clean. He doesn't breathe with his mouth open, either. I'm sure this is early RI, but some things aren't matching up. Any ideas? I'll take him to the vet on Monday if the temperature increase doesn't help.
