Hey guys, I know I havn't been one here for weeks but finally the move is over and we areal settled in. I setup my cage yesterday and everthing looks perfect.
Hot side: 92-81
Cool side: 74-76
Hide boxes:2
I also got some bungee cords one the top also. So I'm finally ready to buy my snake.

Great good luck looks like you should have things under control.. Don't forget to keep the humidity to 50% or better.

Yeah, I'll drill a few more holes to keep the humidity at 50% cause' its at 60% right now. Amd I've found a Petco near me that is one of the best I've ever been to. Their bps are healthy, active, well fed, and captive bred. I was going to buy from Alex Hue but now that I'm in Minnesota it will be to cold to ship before long.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Try to keep the cool side at around 80-85. High 70's is okay maybe for night time drops, but try to keep it from going below 75. Warm side is fine at 90-95.
And if you don't want to, you don't need to drill any more holes for the humidity. 60% is perfect.

Oh, and if you still want to go with Alex Hue or another online breeder, I don't think you have to worry about it being too cold to ship or anything. They'll usually use hot packs to keep the animal warm during the shipping process.

Yeah, but weather reports and stuff heresay that this august was the coolest in a while and its ony going to get colder. Just rather be safe than sorry. and right now I'm not sure if Alex has any hatchlings left. And its great that 60% is perfect.

I know the feeling! I wanted one for a very long time, and finally just DID IT past March. Got myself a pretty female, and have been keepin' her well fed, warm and handled often. Well, I have also gotten interested in the breeding side of it all, so have been looking at getting a male for next years cycle. I figured , if I'm getting one , lets get a morph so there is a practical goal to reach as well. I found out they are quite expensive for a hobby, but just kept looking. Last week, going through anther sites classified, come upon an ad for two 50% het Pieds (my favorite). I read the ad,even though figuring it would be out of my range, and came to the price........ are you ready?!.......... $100 + shipping for BOTH!!!!!! I hit the 'Contact Me' button right then, and let him know I wanted them, if he still had them!! Luck woud have it, he did, I paid, and as we speak (I write) there is a UPS truck driving around Toledo with TWO snakes in a box with my name on it!!! I can't wait to get home from work. I don't seem too excited do I??

Wow talk about luck I hope that works out for you if they to produce pied let me know I will want to get one off of you if you are wanting to sell them.

That was kind of what I was saying with the 'practical goal' bit. I'm not looking to make a living off of them, but if they can pay there own way, so much the better. The seller was really cool about it too! Talked to him last night on the phone, to make sure my new babies got off okay, and he said he had NUMEROUS responses to the ad (ya think) offering him more than what I paid. But the guy has real integrity, and said 'no, I already promised them to someone else'. I think it was only up for an hour or so when I found it, so YES I was really lucky to find it when I did. Told him I would hook him up, if they didprove out to prduce pieds. It's the least I can do for him. Maybe trade for another morph!
