My ball not using his hide?
First post here and I apologize if this is a duplicate thread.
I acquired a 54 inch male (I just call him "The Snake") a couple of months ago from my brother-in-law, and he's abruptly stopped using his hide after I attempted to feed him last week. I've triple-checked the following:
humidity
temperature
searched for hidden poop
general cleanliness
He's still not using it and is clearly distressed by something since he's been very active the last few days. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Did he successfully eat the food you offered? Can he still fit through the entrance to his hide?

I'm working on a Snake Tracker App! If you have any ideas or suggestions on features, feel free to post them in the Development Thread! I'll also be posting updates on the development of this program in this thread!

You say you have triple checked the heat (among other things); may I ask what it is, and how you regulate it? How are you measuring also?
Have there been any sudden changes to your household or The Snake's environment? Is it near a window?

Do you have a hide on the warm and cool sides of the enclosure? Maybe he is just trying to thermoregulate.

He didn't take it. He came out when he smelled it and then never went back in

No hide on the warmer side. I'll give that a shot when I get home from work. Thanks!

I've got the cool side at 80-82 degrees F using a generic made in China thermostat (all I can really afford) and the warm side at 90 F with a heat lamp coupled with my apartment's thermostat working in conjunction. I have two ZooMed digital thermometers to measure the temp.
I recently changed his substrate from ReptiCarpet (or whatever it's called) to EcoEarth, but that was almost a month ago and he's eaten since that substrate change, so I'm not sure if that's it
