Ball room racks? How do they heat them?

I'm looking to build my own racks, but I just don't know how they wire them. Can any post pictures of racks they've built showing how you connect the heat tape? Do you leave the back open, or just cut small holes for the wires to go to each level?

I install the heat tape with the back off first. then line up the back of the rack and mark where to drill holes for the wires to go through. then drill them out and slide the wires through when I put the back on.

I also drill out my pocket for the thermostat and thermometer probe before the heat tape goes in
