    PLEASE HELP!!! scales

ok just to let you know, i do have a vet appt tomorrow, but i want to know what to expect, and if there is a chance (however slim) that i dont need to take him in...

i took my snake out today, and immediately noticed he was about to go into a shed. (his scales on his back felt funny and his eyes were blue, which are his telltale sign of shed.) however, his underbelly felt weird, so i flipped him over, and noticed his scales looked REALLY weird. they were brown instead of their normal pink, and there were little flecks of blood here and there under the scales. they were starting to bubble up too in places. i got a few pics jut to give a good idea of what i am talking about. has ANYONE ever seen a snakes underbelly look like this? im really worried about him. hopefully its just further in the shed than i thought and i dont need to take him to the vet, but of course i will if it needs to be done.

Looks like maybe a burn under neath. What are you using for heat?

What's your temps like? That almost looks like a burn that when the snake sheds becomes more prominent due to the fluid build up before the outer skin detaches. Almost like as a blister would. Have you looked up other snake burns? Pics and such.

Ouch I would get that baby some medical care like yesterday, it looks like burns are you using a in tank heat rock? Another thing might be is under the glass heat pad that is not on a thermostat, I ask because my male goes in his cave and moves all his aspen to the sides in the cave and lays on the glass I put more aspen in and he moves it' and if that pad was not on a thermostat it got to hot to the touch on my hand, I'm no expert but this gives you some things to check. I hope he heals and is OK.

Cage carpet is horrible for bacteria. Switch to paper towels for now to keep it clean. Keep your vet appointment, as they will probably give you some silver sulfadiazine (sp?) cream. How are you controlling temps on the heat mat? A thermostat is a MUST.

True all true, looked it up and found that your snake has what's going to be scale rot due to burns and bacteria, trip to the vet for sure, but your snake will recover. Good luck , keep it clean and dry and correct the temps.
