Unexpected surprise

So first I have to admit my lack of attention as to what rats I was given ended up in a somewhat positive situation. I have 3 rats who have been holdovers since everyone in the house was on a hunger strike for the better part of a month at least. What I didn't realize is that I had one male and 2 females in the tank. Well now there is also 12 rats pups. Overall everyone appears to be doing well. It looks like the other female is preggers too so yeah I have a bit of a handful now. Anything I should be concerned with to care for baby rats?

Nope. Just keep the mammas fed well. They do all the rest. Welcome to the rat breeding addiction. I get super excited over every litter and seeing what I get.

Hi I would just suggest making sure they have all the food and water they need and a quiet place, If they become stressed they may kill the babies, lack of food and water or too noisy and environment can cause stress. Or you can just feed the babies off, then the adults. It depends what you want to do if you want the hassle and smell or raising them. You do not need rat chow, dog food would do or other left overs rats are not too picky.
