I would say you should start burping the tubs (exchange air and then re-seal) around that time but I personally do not remove until 55ish if there hasn't been a pip yet. Eggs can dry out, but I haven't heard of complications from keeping the humidity too high as long as they aren't getting dripped on.

do the eggs need oxygen? there is some metabolism going on, so i would expect the eggs to take in some oxygen and to pass some CO2, using the air bubble at the top, but i honestly dont know if the quantity is meaningful.
The Big Bang almost certainly (beyond reasonable doubt) happened 13.7 billion years ago. If you disagree, send me a PM.
Evolution is a fact, evolutionary theory explains why it happens and provides four different lines of evidence that coalesce to show that evolution is a fact. If you disagree, send me a PM.
One third of the global economy relies on technology that is based on quantum mechanics, especially quantum electrodynamics (electron-photon or electron-electron interactions). If you disagree, send me a PM.
Time Dilation is real, it is so real that all clocks if they are precise enough can measure it, and GPS could not possibly work without it. If you disagree, send me a PM.
The 4 philosophically most important aspects of modern science are: Evolutionary theory, Cosmology, Quantum mechanics, and Einsteins theory of general relativity. Understand these to get a grip of reality.

Press-n-seal is not even necessary if your substrate mixture is right and your incubator has a good seal. Don't have a problem in 6qt Sterlite tubs with just standard non-locking lids. Plenty of humidity in my tubs without any press-n-seal. Inspect weekly and then every day after day ~45 or so.
Clutch #1 this season so far....

The "deflating" is natural near the end of incubation.

These pipped on their own at day 52 last season. Most all the eggs were "deflated'.
